Busan basic lawmaker and younger brother sent to prosecution on charges of improper handling of election expenses for re-election of superintendent of education

The Busan Police Agency announced on the 16th that it had sent Busan Gangseo-gu council member Shin Na-young and her younger brother, Mr. A, without detention on charges of violating the political fund law.

Representative Shin is accused of receiving daily wages returned by a campaign worker who did not show up for work due to personal reasons into his personal account while working for a candidate's camp during the re-election for superintendent of education held last year.

Returned election expenses must be processed in accordance with relevant accounting procedures, but it is known that the problem was that Rep. Shin received them into his personal account.

In addition, it was found that District Councilman Shin named his younger brother, Mr. A, as the accountant in the candidate camp and then handled the actual work himself.

If Rep. Shin loses his seat, the seat will become vacant as there is no next-ranking proportional representative candidate, and the Gangseo District Council, where the ruling and opposition parties are currently equal, will be reorganized into 4 seats for the People Power Party and 3 seats for the Democratic Party.
