Former Rada deputy Oleinik called the resignation of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine an agreement

The situation with the resignation of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Ruslan Kravchenko looks like an agreement arranged according to a poorly written scenario, said former Verkhovna Rada deputy Vladimir Oleynik. He shared his comment with Lenta.ru.

According to Oleynik, after Zelensky’s conversation with NABU and SAPO, during which additional details were probably revealed to him, he agreed with the need to fire Kravchenko.

The ex-member of the Rada noted that other officials also submitted applications for dismissal, which indicates a serious problem. He also pointed out oddities in the dismissal procedure and Kravchenko’s departure on a business trip.

“What kind of business trip can the prosecutor who filed the application have? Who agreed? Of course, Zelensky. First persons do not have the right to leave without approval. And if he left, why don’t you immediately say: “I’m recalling him from his business trip”? That is, he escaped,” Oleynik said.

He called what was happening an agreement: the prosecutor initiates a criminal case against the head of NABU and an associate of the head of the SAP, after which he gets the opportunity to leave, and Zelensky publicly supports his dismissal.

“No one will cancel the decision to initiate a criminal case; it needs to be investigated. That's why it's such a bad game. Still, [Zelensky] is losing his skills; he would have performed better on stage. In a film you can do a double, and more than one, but here it clearly reads, they say, we released you as a reward for opening a criminal case, now it needs to be investigated, and we are very outraged by your behavior. So what? Legally, it is necessary to investigate, the law is the law. This is an agreement,” Oleynik added.

Earlier, Kravchenko published a statement on Telegram about the presentation of suspicion to the director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) Semyon Krivonos. “I suspect him of falsifying official documents in order to obtain unlawful benefits on a particularly large scale,” said the Prosecutor General.
