Flávio Bolsonaro accuses Davi Alcolumbre of protecting Alexandre de Moraes and calls for impeachment of the STF minister

Senator and candidate for President of the Republic Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) stated that Davi Alcolumbre (União Brasil), president of the Senate, has no interest in a possible impeachment process of minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the STF (Supreme Federal Court), and that both are concerned about self-protection.

The statement was made this Friday (4) during the candidate's campaign in São Carlos (232 km from São Paulo), where he was alongside governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans).

"I regret that he [Alcolumbre] had a long meeting with Alexandre de Moraes, which seems to have agreed something with Flávio Dino, to take some illegal actions against me. I regret his stance, because if democracy has become so messed up at this point it is because the Senate did not have the opportunity to consider any of the 54 impeachment proceedings against Alexandre de Moraes, because he did not want to take part in the agenda", said the senator.

"He preferred to protect a friend than the institution. He is missing a great opportunity to restore the credibility of the Senate and return the Supreme Court to the people. They are worried about their self-protection."

On Tuesday (1), it was revealed that the former banker, Daniel Vorcaro, from Banco Master, two days before being arrested and about to travel abroad, asked Moraes if he should flee the country. Furthermore, the minister issued a contract worth R$131 million between his wife's law firm, Viviane Barci de Moraes, and Master.

The presidential candidate arrived in the city of São Paulo at 12pm and, with Tarcísio, went to a technology hub. They then went to the Central Market square, where they held a rally.

With shouts of "Lula out, Moraes out", Flávio called on the population to participate in the event that will be held on Avenida Paulista next Monday (7), the Brazilian Independence holiday. He also recalled that he is prohibited from seeing his father, former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), who is imprisoned by order of Moraes.

When asked at a press conference about the possibility of the STF approving a code of ethics for judges, he said it was "a light at the end of the tunnel".

"I'm in favor of the institution, but ministers can't do what they want. There's no way Alexandre de Moraes can continue at the STF. With the breach of confidentiality in Banco Master's investigations, everyone could see what he's like," he said.

The candidate also appealed to the conservative electorate, with issues such as the chemical castration of rapists and the reduction of the age of criminal responsibility, and criticized the PT, the party of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

"Brazil needs a street sweeper in the presidency to leave Brasília as clean as the streets of São Carlos," said Flávio.

Tarcísio criticized the country's economy and Senate candidate André do Prado (PL) asked for amnesty and freedom for Bolsonaro.
