Protests against education conditions of high school students in France spread across the country

The protests launched last week in the provinces around the capital Paris, demanding the improvement of educational conditions for high school students in France, continue throughout the country, including the cities of Lille, Saint-Denis, Rennes and Venissieux.

According to news in the national press, the French Ministry of National Education announced that there were disruptions in education in more than 300 schools due to the protests.

According to the Ministry's data, 40 people were detained within the scope of the protests, and a total of 10 students and education staff were injured.

There was tension between the police and high school students in some cities.

While tension broke out in the protest near the Cesar-Baggio High School in the northern city of Lille, bus stops and billboards were damaged.

While some garbage in the area was set on fire, paving stones and different objects were thrown at the security forces. The police intervened with pepper gas against the students.

Some of the activists gathered in front of Martiniere-Duchere High School in Lyon and threw fireworks towards the school.

In front of Brequigny High School in Rennes, Ille-et-Vilaine province, some students threw different objects at the school building.

On the other hand, images of the police using pepper gas and physical intervention against high school students protesting were shared on social media.

According to the footage, the police in Lille unleashed dogs on high school students protesting.

High school students ran away from the police's pepper spray and the dog they released. One student was injured in his hand during the incident.

Near Jacques-Brel High School in the city of Venissieux, a police officer grabbed a student by the collar and took him away from the protest area. The police slammed the student's head against the bus stop.

Police also sprayed pepper gas into the faces of students protesting in front of Renoir High School in Cagnes-sur-Mer, Alpes-Maritimes province.
