Prison sentence for nurses in death case in Gaziantep

The decision hearing of the case regarding the death of Abdurrezzak Baysal, who died in the Private Bossan Hospital where he was treated after a traffic accident in Gaziantep 3 years ago, was held.

Baysal's family and lawyers attended the hearing at Gaziantep 3rd High Criminal Court. The family demanded that the defendants be punished in the most severe way.

In its opinion, the prosecutor's office requested that the defendants be punished and arrested for "possible premeditated murder".

The court sentenced the defendant nurse Aslı E. to life imprisonment for "murder with possible intent".

The other defendant, nurse Mustafa Ç., was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the same crime.

Allegedly, Abdurrezzak Baysal was treated at Private Bossan Hospital in Gaziantep after his traffic accident 3 years ago.

It was stated that Baysal was conscious and in good general health, and that he had a platinum implanted in his foot due to his knee injury. It was claimed that Baysal, who was followed in the intensive care unit, had an argument with a nurse there.

According to the allegations in the indictment and during the trial, Baysal was later injected with a drug that belonged to another patient and was claimed to contain muscle relaxants. Witnesses heard in previous hearings also claimed that Baysal died after the injection.
