Jury unable to decide in Lindsay Clancy case, judge declares trial null and void

The jury called to deliberate on the case of Lindsay Clancy, the mother who killed her three children, is "unable" to reach a verdict. The American media reported it, citing the jurors' communication to the court. Judge William Sullivan declared the trial a mistrial: "I don't think I have any choice but to declare a mistrial," Sullivan said. Jurors deliberated for more than six days without being able to find consensus on a case that has America glued to TV and sparked debate about postpartum depression and psychosis. Clancy's lawyer filed an emergency appeal with the Massachusetts Supreme Court to try to stop the judge from declaring his client's trial null and void. The triple murder and the attempt to take his own life

The jury was called to express its opinion on the awareness of her actions by the 36-year-old mother who in 2023 strangled to death her three children Cora, Dawson and Callan, aged 5 years, 3 years and eight months respectively. The woman said she heard a male voice telling her that she would die and that her children would not be safe without her. After the three infanticides, the woman injured herself with a knife and threw herself from a second floor window in an unsuccessful attempt to take her own life, resulting in paralysis.
