The Public Ministry of Paraná (MPPR) denounced, this Wednesday (23), a municipal guard from Curitiba for persecuting, threatening and trying to rape teenagers.
According to the complaint, the 34-year-old man approached the victims, who are between 13 and 17 years old, on streets in the Alto da Glória, Ahú and Centro neighborhoods. He is in pre-trial detention and his name has not been released.
According to the MP, there were at least six crimes, committed between July and August this year against five boys, in the vicinity of Rua Mauá, the Couto Pereira Stadium and the Colégio Estadual Professor Loureiro Fernandes, in Curitiba.
According to investigations, the man used a motorized electric scooter to approach the victims and asked their age and where they lived. Then, the guard offered money in exchange for libidinous acts.
During the approaches, according to the MP, he threatened the teenagers, saying that he could find them, since he knew the route they took daily, and, in some cases, he showed the victims a knife and a firearm.
The man was charged with the crimes of stalking, sexual harassment, threats and attempted rape of a vulnerable person. The Public Prosecutor's Office also requested the payment of R$50,000 to each of the victims as moral damages.
Curitiba City Hall informed, in a note, that it ordered the preventive suspension of the municipal guard, who was off duty at the time of the incident.
"The corporation's weapon that was under its responsibility was seized. The Internal Affairs Department has been monitoring the case since the beginning and will strictly adopt all appropriate measures. The Municipal Guard does not tolerate any conduct incompatible with the public function", says the note.

Other victims
The Public Prosecutor's Office reported that it does not rule out the possibility of the existence of other criminal practices by the suspect and that any other victims seek the agency for guidance and possible representation of the facts.

Suspect shot victim's stepfather after being confronted
The suspect was arrested red-handed for attempted murder at the end of August, after he shot the stepfather of one of the victims.
According to the Military Police (PM-PR), the guard, who was off duty, was riding a scooter along Rua Mauá, when he allegedly harassed two teenagers. The stepfather of one of them would have witnessed the situation and went towards the agent.
Afterwards, the two got into a physical fight. During the fight, the guard fired a shot, which hit the stepfather in the abdomen.
The man was rescued and taken to a hospital.
The crime was not considered in the complaint presented by the 1st Prosecutor's Office for Criminal Offenses Against Children and Adolescents this Wednesday because it is evaluated by another prosecutor's office.
