Donald Trump has confirmed that he has rejected the seven-day plan for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz sent by Iran through mediators. “They made a proposal, but I rejected it,” the US president told reporters before leaving for Tennessee. "They want to reach an agreement that provides for the immediate reopening of the Strait, because they find themselves in a strong disadvantaged position," Trump argued. "They want to negotiate and, in principle, I am also in favor of an agreement, but the conditions they propose are not acceptable," he explained. The news was anticipated by the Wall Street Journal, according to which Trump also told his collaborators that he intends to resume bombing Iran after the mid-term elections. According to the newspaper, the Iranian proposal would have led to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the resumption of nuclear negotiations, in exchange for the lifting of the American blockade. But, as a US source told Axios, the communication channels between the two sides are not closed. On the contrary. "Positive and constructive" discussions are still ongoing between the United States and Iran through mediators, including on nuclear issues. And late in the evening Tehran made it known that they were awaiting Trump's formal response.
Meanwhile, on the Israeli front, new articles from The Atlantic and New York Times accuse Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of having been informed by Egypt and the United Arab Emirates before the October 7 attacks. The prime minister's office, however, denies it: "False".

Netanyahu's office denies The Atlantic's reconstruction: "False"
“This statement is false.” With these words, the Office of Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu responded this evening to The Atlantic, which, citing Israeli, Egyptian, American, Arab and European sources, had written that Egyptian intelligence chief Abbas Kamel had warned Israel before October 7 about a possible attack by Hamas. Israel, opposition leaders pact: collaborate for new government
In Israel, the leaders of the opposition parties have made a pact in view of the elections on 27 October, pledging to collaborate to form a "Zionist" government that is up to its institutional responsibilities. The statement was released at the end of a meeting at Yair Lapid's home in Tel Aviv: Gadi Eisenkot, leader of Yashar and favorite in the polls, Naftali Bennett, leading Insieme, Avigdor Liberman of Yisrael Beitenu and Yair Golan of the Democrats were present. “We are united and determined to bring positive change and hope to the State of Israel,” they said, presenting a “paper of principles” in which they pledge to “do everything possible to broaden the electoral base, obtain a majority in elections and form a government.” The five also promised, "from now until the formation of the government" not to attack each other. As for the question of the bloc's prime ministerial candidate, on which Eisenot has so far insisted that it be indicated before the vote on 27 October, it has instead been decided to postpone until after the elections. In the meantime, they have divided themselves into three joint working groups which, among other things, will define the programmatic guidelines for the next government. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's response was immediate and, using artificial intelligence, he added the leaders of the Arab-Israeli parties Mansour Abbas of Ra'am and Ahmad Tibi of the Joint List to the image. "Eisenkot will form a left-wing government with Liberman, Golan, Bennett and the Arab parties. Only a strong Likud will be able to stop them," the head of government warned. Bezalel Smotrich, Finance Minister and leader of the far-right party Religious Zionism, also commented by relaunching the photo on X with the caption, "This is dangerous."

Hamas: "Israel will use Gaza's blood to campaign"
The Hamas leader said he expected Israelis to campaign using Gaza's "blood". “Whether this or that candidate comes to power, or this or that party, our people have suffered at the hands of all Israeli parties,” Khalil al-Hayya told Qatari broadcaster Al-Araby. "We categorically refuse to allow the blood, suffering and cause of the Palestinian people to be used as fuel for Israeli elections. Ministry of Health: "Seven deaths in Gaza in the last 48 hours"
The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza reports that seven deaths have been recorded in the last 48 hours following Israeli attacks on hospitals, one of which involved a person who died from previous wounds. Furthermore, 38 injuries were reported. Since the October 2025 “ceasefire,” Israel has killed 1,415 Palestinians in Gaza and wounded 4,953. In total, 74,016 people have been killed since October 7, 2023, and 175,068 have been injured.
