Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms Expected in Western Türkiye at the Weekend

According to the predictions of the General Directorate of Meteorology, there will be thunderstorms in the western parts of the country at the weekend, and heavy rainfall is expected, especially in Thrace. While rains are expected to be seen in the Marmara, Aegean, Eastern Black Sea and some parts of the Mediterranean on Sunday, citizens were warned to be careful against flash floods, floods and transportation disruptions.

While the lowest temperature is expected to be 16 degrees and the highest temperature is 24 degrees in Istanbul tomorrow, temperatures will be around 26-34 degrees in the Aegean and Mediterranean regions.

RAINY WEATHER WILL AFFECT THE WESTERN PARTS OF THE COUNTRY ON SUNDAY

On Sunday, the last day of the week, the rainy weather system is expected to spread to the western part of the country.

It is estimated that thunderstorms will continue intermittently in the east of Marmara, the Aegean and the Black Sea.

On Sunday, local thunderstorms will also be seen in the central and western parts of the Mediterranean Region.

Partly cloudy and sunny weather will continue to affect Central Anatolia, Eastern Anatolia and the Southeast.

While the highest temperature in Istanbul is estimated to be 23 degrees on Sunday, it is expected to be around 15/24 degrees in Ankara.

Meteorological officials warned citizens to be careful and cautious against negativities such as sudden floods, floods and transportation disruptions that may occur due to heavy rains over the weekend.
