Hertz Dias defends taxation of billionaires to end 6x1 scale and outsourcing

In an electoral agenda in Greater Recife, the presidential candidate for the Unified Socialist Workers Party (PSTU), Hertz Dias, defended the taxation of billionaires to finance the end of the 6x1 scale. He also promised to end outsourcing and create public platforms for app workers.

The candidate carried out leafleting at the fair in the Center of Jaboatão dos Guararapes, in Greater Recife. At night, the agenda includes a conversation about art and culture on the mezzanine of the Ambassador Building, in the Boa Vista neighborhood, in the central area of ​​the capital of Pernambuco.

On TV Globo, Hertz stated that revoking the 6x1 scale would generate more jobs and would be financed through the taxation of billionaires and the fight against tax exemptions and fraud.

"We are going to revoke this semi-slave working day. This would generate more employment, therefore, more consumption and demand for more production. The adequacy of small and medium businesspeople will come precisely from billionaires, those who do not pay taxes. Brazil, per year, fails to collect almost R$1 trillion, R$600 billion in tax exemption and almost R$400 billion from tax fraud. So, it will be the billionaires who will pay for the adaptation of small and medium businesspeople to the end of this scale of 6 for 1 work", he declared.

Hertz also stated that he intends to end outsourcing as a hiring model, hold public competitions and incorporate outsourced workers into the public service.

According to him, these measures would be financed by suspending public debt payments and taxing billionaires.

"Outsourcing means precariousness, it means low wages, it means a terrible offer of public services. We are going to put an end to outsourcing. We are going to hold public tenders. We are going to incorporate outsourced workers and, to that end, we are going to suspend payment of the public debt and we are going to tax billionaires to make this adjustment, so that we can offer quality public services to the population", he stated.

When asked about app workers, the candidate defended the creation of public platforms managed by the professionals themselves.

"There are millions of workers who end up working in semi-slave conditions for foreign application companies. We are going to create public platforms that will be controlled by these workers themselves, and the funds for us to do this will come from strategic companies that we will nationalize, take the surplus from these companies and invest in the development of a public infrastructure to also develop our own applications", he declared.
