Man suffers cardiorespiratory arrest after swarm of bees attack in Montes Claros

A man suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest after being attacked by a swarm of bees in the Santa Rita neighborhood, in Montes Claros, on Monday afternoon (21). Samu managed to reverse the situation after performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers. His sister was also injured.

According to Samu, the victim was attacked while he was in the backyard of his own residence. When the medical team arrived at the scene, the man was already inside the Fire Department's rescue unit and in cardiorespiratory arrest. He was found unconscious in the property.

Rescuers immediately began resuscitation procedures. After nine cycles of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, the arrest was reversed.

Still according to Samu, the patient was intubated, stabilized and taken to Santa Casa de Montes Claros. He had around 50 bee stings on his body.

According to the Fire Department, the man's 76-year-old sister was also stung. She was taken by the military to the University Hospital.

After responding, the corporation found a swarm on a power pole. Cemig was called and turned off the grid power, allowing the team to operate safely. Then the bees were removed.
