Horticultural therapy as a complement to children's rehabilitation in Krakow

Modern medicine is increasingly using methods that go beyond traditional pharmacological treatment or rehabilitation. Dog therapy, music therapy and hortitherapy are examples of non-standard therapies that use contact with animals, music and nature to support physical, mental and emotional health.

Although they do not replace conventional treatment, they can be a valuable complement to it - helping to reduce tension, improve well-being, support development and facilitate recovery.

Hortitherapy, i.e. treatment with a garden

Innovative horticultural therapy, which is intended to support the rehabilitation process of children with physical disabilities, was introduced by, among others, Provincial Specialist Children's Hospital named after Saint Ludwika in Krakow in cooperation with the local University of Agriculture and the Botanical Garden.

The idea came about because we are constantly looking for new ways of medical supplements. Hippocrates already said that nature is the cure for every disease and we stick to it.

Horticultural therapy classes are conducted, among others, in the sensory garden at the Małopolska Rehabilitation Center in Radziszów, which is part of St. Hospital. Ludwik.
