The implementation of the electronic DiLO card in Polish oncology is scheduled for the turn of the third and fourth quarter

This time shift is due to the fact that hospitals are still preparing their IT systems. We do not issue these cards yet because the process of integrating medical systems with the dziennik.gov system is ongoing. The work is advanced. I think that the turn of the third and fourth quarter, October and November, are realistic dates, and training on how to use the DiLO e-card is currently underway - describes the director of the National Institute of Oncology - National Research Institute in Warsaw, Professor Beata Jagielska, in an interview with RMF FM. This facility is a center monitoring the reform of Polish oncology and the implementation of the National Oncology Network, of which the DiLO electronic card is a part.

In turn, the director of the coordinated care department at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Michał Chrobot, explains in an interview with RMF FM that the mechanism for launching the DiLO e-card turned out to be very complex. It's about connecting not one but three systems. We want the first branches to issue e-cards in September. We want to do it wisely, because it is a very big change in the IT system, covering three systems: the hospital system, the P1 platform and the National Health Fund system, which will pay for services based on the DiLO e-card. We want to do it calmly, test it in selected hospitals. The first centers where e-cards will be issued are the Nicolaus Copernicus Provincial Center for Oncology and Traumatology in Łódź and the National Institute of Oncology in Warsaw. Then there will be further steps - adds Dr. Chrobot.

The task is urgent because from January - in accordance with the act - the electronic version of the card is to be the basic document throughout Poland. It is intended to facilitate the transfer of information from large hospitals to smaller clinics that also treat cancer. In this way, it is intended to facilitate cancer treatment as close to the patient's home as possible, all the time within the National Oncology Network.
