Accident at work in Fincantieri Ancona: one worker dead and one seriously injured

A 55-year-old Tunisian worker died due to his burns and another 29-year-old of Bangladeshi origin was transferred from the regional hospital in Ancona to the major burns center in Pisa in very serious conditions. This is the tragic outcome of an accident at work which occurred late yesterday evening in the Fincantieri factory in Ancona.

Around 10.15pm the two workers, employed in a contracting company, were hit by a blaze while working on a ship inside a shed. The dynamics of the accident are still being reconstructed by Polmare. The Fiom, Fim and Uilm unions, protesting in front of the plant, have proclaimed an eight-hour strike.
