Insolvent automotive suppliers Bohai and Schlote are ceasing operations

The insolvent automotive suppliers Bohai and Schlote will cease operations in Harzgerode and Wernigerode by the end of January.

On Monday afternoon, the insolvency administrators informed the approximately 700 employees of both companies about this at a staff meeting in Harzgerode. According to the insolvency administrators, a total of 730 jobs will be affected by the closures.

Bohai and Schlote filed for bankruptcy in April. A search for investors for the business at Bohai remained unsuccessful until recently, as the insolvency administrator announced. An interested party in whom there had been hope until the end dropped out despite intensive negotiations. Bohai runs a foundry and produces aluminum castings in Harzgerode.

With the end at Bohai, operations at Schlote also come to a halt. As a supplier on the same premises, there would be no more orders for the company beyond January, according to the insolvency administrator.
