ISIS operation in Istanbul: 6 suspects detained

In the studies carried out by the Istanbul Police Department Anti-Terrorism Branch Directorate teams within the scope of the crime of 'Financing of Terrorism', the account movements of the suspects who had connections with the ISIS Armed Terrorist Organization and people affiliated with conflict zones were investigated, which were examined by MASAK.

During the investigations, it was determined that the suspects carried out money transfers with many people who were subjected to judicial proceedings within the scope of ISIS and other terrorist organizations with religious motives.

It was determined that expressions such as "zakat, fitra, sacrifice money" were used in the description sections of money transfers.

6 SUSPECTS WERE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY

6 suspects were detained in simultaneous operations held on September 29.

During the searches carried out at the suspects' homes, 13 thousand dollars, a large number of digital materials and organizational documents were seized.

While the suspects were taken to the police station for processing, it was learned that the investigation was continuing.
