30 arrests in Mardin-based illegal betting operation

30 of the 41 suspects detained in the simultaneous operation against illegal betting in 3 provinces centered in Mardin were arrested. Efforts are continuing to capture the 4 fugitive suspects.

An investigation was launched by the teams of the Provincial Police Department's Anti-Cyber ​​Crimes Branch Directorate, under the coordination of the Mardin Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

During the investigation, it was determined that the suspects enabled betting on illegal betting sites originating from abroad and acted as intermediaries in money transfer.

A total of 400 million 333 thousand 693 lira movements were detected in the accounts of 45 suspects within the scope of the investigation in 43 thousand 986 transactions.

SIMULTANEOUS OPERATION IN THREE PROVINCES

A simultaneous operation was organized at the addresses determined in Mardin city center and Aydın and Çorum. 41 of the 45 suspects for whom detention warrants were issued were caught.

During the searches at the addresses, 2 long-barreled weapons, 177 cartridges and a lot of digital materials were seized.

30 SUSPECTS WERE ARRESTED

Two of the suspects, who were referred to the courthouse after their procedures at the police station, were released by the prosecutor's office.

Of the 39 suspects who were referred to the court with a request for arrest, 30 were arrested and 9 were released on condition of judicial control.
