Drug operation in 35 provinces: 264 detentions, 172 arrests

According to the statement made by the Ministry, operations were carried out against drug dealers and illegal cannabis cultivation in 35 provinces, with the participation of 2 thousand 205 narcotics and public order teams and 11 thousand 25 personnel, under the coordination of the Gendarmerie General Command's Anti-Narcotic Crimes Department and the chief public prosecutor's offices.

During the operations, 653 kilograms of drugs and 410 thousand 412 drug pills were seized. In addition, 1 million 229 thousand hemp and skunk plants were destroyed.

Of the 264 suspects taken into custody, 172 were arrested by the judgeship to which they were brought, and judicial control provisions were applied to 92 of them.

It was determined that the suspects carried out drug trafficking in an organized manner, sold drugs through social media and messaging applications, and provided resources for drug production by cultivating illegal cannabis and skunk.
