Drug operation in 35 provinces: 264 suspects caught

NEWS CENTER - Operations were organized in 35 provinces by Provincial Gendarmerie Commands, under the coordination of the Gendarmerie General Command's Anti-Narcotic Crimes Department and the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs shared the details of the operation;

"During the operations carried out by our Gendarmerie against "Drug Dealers and Illegal Cannabis Cultivation" in 35 Provinces, 653 kg of narcotic substances and 410 thousand 412 narcotic pills were seized. 1 million 229 thousand pieces of cannabis root and skunk were destroyed. 264 suspects were caught during the operations. 172 of the suspects were arrested. Judicial control provisions were applied to 92 of them.

The suspects caught in the operations organized in 35 provinces by the Provincial Gendarmerie Commands, under the coordination of the Gendarmerie General Command's Anti-Narcotic Crimes Department and the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, with the participation of 2 thousand 205 narcotics and public order teams, 11 thousand 25 personnel and the Anti-Narcotic Crimes Department Analysis and Follow-up Teams, were found to be carrying out drug trafficking in an organized manner, selling drugs via social media and messaging applications, illegally cultivating cannabis and skunk. It was determined that they provided resources for its production.
