Narcotics Operations in Istanbul: 182 Detained and Tons of Drugs Seized

Work is continuing to prevent the crime of "manufacturing and trading drugs or stimulants" by the Istanbul Police Department's Anti-Narcotic Crimes Branch Directorate.

After months of technical and physical follow-up, the teams determined the identities and addresses of the suspects and launched 4 operations that would last 36 hours in total on September 22.

The teams first worked on street dealers, called "torbaci", in Şişli, Beşiktaş and Sarıyer, and determined that the suspects were selling drugs from entertainment venues and valet points.

The teams determined the passwords, reference points and stash points they created among themselves and detained 176 suspects in the operation they carried out.

In the operation carried out by the Istanbul narcotics police in Bağcılar on the same day, 4 tons of drugs were prevented from being distributed to the market.

Police teams again foiled the pursuit game of the suspects, who lived in Arnavutköy and came to a workplace that appeared to be a printing house in Bağcılar, only upon the order they received.

The teams determined that raw materials were turned into drugs by using gas masks on the second floor of the address, which had a display area with rings and chocolate boxes on the first floor.

He started a long technical and physical pursuit to catch the two detected suspects together.

Determining that the suspects' only communication with each other was at work, the teams revealed that the suspects took different public transportation vehicles from Arnavutköy to Bağcılar in order to avoid being caught by police pursuit, and arrived at their destination after an 8-hour journey.

The suspects, who could not escape the meticulous work of the teams despite all precautions, were detained in an operation carried out at the workplace where they met to produce drugs.

During the search at the address, 40 kilograms of raw materials that could yield 4 tons of drugs were seized.

Suspects who were going to produce drugs in Türkiye, where they arrived on different planes, were caught

On September 22, the teams carried out an operation against suspects who would come from Iran and produce drugs.

The teams, which reflected all their personal data on the field, followed the Iranian national suspects who entered the country on different days and planes in order not to attract attention.

One suspect, who rented a house in Esenyurt when he first entered the country, was caught in the routine General Information Collection (GBT) control of official police teams. It was determined that the suspects, who were uneasy about the inspection, returned to Iran on the same day.

The suspects, who re-entered the country about a month later on different days and planes, but were being followed by the police, were caught in an operation as soon as they produced drugs in a different house they rented.

During the operation, a total of 5 suspects, 3 of whom were Iranian nationals, were detained and 327 kilograms of drugs were seized.

In the last operation of the teams on September 23, the suspect who wanted to put 16 kilograms of powdered marijuana, which he brought in pieces from Diyarbakır, to the market was detained.
