Drug operation in Istanbul: Thousands of pills and pregabalin were seized

The incident took place on Wednesday, September 30, at around 13:00 in Seyrantepe District. According to the information obtained, municipal cleaning workers noticed that there were boxes in the garbage containers while they were cleaning them. When the workers opened the boxes and saw that there were many pills in them, they became suspicious and informed the police. Upon inspection of the police teams who came to the scene upon notice, it was determined that the boxes contained narcotic pills and waste used in pill making. A total of 10,900 drug pills were seized by separating the pills from other waste. Police teams examined the surrounding security cameras to determine who left the boxes.

HE BROUGHT THE BOXES WITH A rickshaw and left them in the containers.

Kağıthane Public Security Bureau teams, examining the security camera footage, determined that the boxes were left in the containers by a person collecting waste with a rickshaw. The teams examined the cameras on the route where the suspect came and determined that the parcels were loaded onto a rickshaw at a shop in the district. Continuing their work, police teams also obtained images of the boxes being unloaded from a truck. It was determined that the people who unloaded the parcels from the truck and loaded them into the rickshaw were Hulisi Y. (56), Abdulkadir D. (46) and Mehmet T. (25). Three suspects were detained by police teams.

THE WORKSHOP IN FATIH HAS BEEN REACHED

Kağıthane Public Security Bureau teams determined that the drug pills were produced in a workplace in Fatih, through the work they carried out through security cameras. Police teams carried out an operation at the workplace used as a factory and seized many empty capsules and 1 precision scale during the searches.

As the work continued, it was determined that the materials removed from the workplace were taken to a warehouse in Başakşehir. Istanbul Anti-Narcotic Crimes Branch Directorate teams carried out an operation on the warehouse.

643 THOUSAND 476 DRUG PILLS WERE SEIZED IN THE WAREHOUSE

During the searches carried out in the warehouse, 785 kilograms of pregabalin and 643 thousand 476 narcotic pills were seized. Two more suspects were caught and detained during the operation. Thus, the number of suspects caught increased to 5. Hulisi Y., who was detained in Kağıthane, was charged with 5 counts of 'Manufacturing and trading drugs or stimulants' and 'Disturbing the peace and tranquility of people', Abdulkadir D. was charged with 5 counts of 'Manufacturing and trading drugs or stimulants', 'Intentional wounding', 'Opposition to the anti-smuggling law' and 'Negligent injury', and Mehmet T. was charged with 5 counts of 'Drugs. It was learned that there were 6 records of people coming to the police station for the crimes of 'manufacturing and trading stimulants', 'negligent wounding' and 'intentional wounding'. 3 suspects, whose procedures were completed at the police station, were sent to the courthouse.
