Italian Prime Minister Meloni responded to President Erdoğan's congratulatory message

Meloni, who has been in power since 2022 in Italy, which has been governed as a republic since 1946, responded one by one to the congratulatory messages from world leaders as the government he leads made history yesterday as the longest-lasting government in the country's history.

Prime Minister Meloni, in the message he shared on the social media platform of the US-based company he said.

Meloni stated the following in his message:

"Italy and Turkey are connected by historical ties and common interests, which makes it important to continue to develop dialogue and cooperation between our nations. In recent years, we have strengthened the relations between Rome and Ankara, working on files of common interest and major challenges concerning the Mediterranean, security and regional stability. I am confident that this process can continue with concrete steps and create new opportunities for cooperation in the interests of our peoples."

In his post on his social media accounts last night, President Erdoğan said, "I wholeheartedly congratulate Mr. Giorgia Meloni, who has achieved the title of 'the longest-serving prime minister' of the Republic of Italy. I wholeheartedly believe that we will strengthen the cooperation and solidarity between Mr. Giorgia Meloni and our countries every day." He used the expression.
