Jerusalem Governorship: The killing of Ibrahim al-Hindi is an extrajudicial execution

In the statement made by the Jerusalem Governorship, it was reminded that the Israeli police shot and killed Ibrahim al-Hindi near the Damascus Gate of the Masjid al-Aqsa in East Jerusalem.

In the statement, it was noted that with the killing of Hindi, the number of Palestinians killed since the beginning of the year increased to 17.

It was argued that the incident in question was a part of the Israeli police's "extrajudicial execution policy" against Palestinians, and it was emphasized that this was a clear violation of international law and international humanitarian law.

The statement stated that Hindi's killing constituted a crime against humanity, and pointed out that the incident was a part of the crimes and violations carried out by Israeli soldiers and armed Israelis who usurped Palestinian lands against Palestinians in the occupied lands, especially in East Jerusalem.

Israeli police also seized the body of Ibrahim al-Hindi. With this, the number of Palestinians from East Jerusalem whose bodies Israel has detained since 1967 increased to 53.

Publication ban decision

On the other hand, it was reported that the Israeli police issued a publication ban regarding the details of the incident and the murder of Hindi.

Israeli police opened fire in occupied East Jerusalem, killing a Palestinian, and claimed that the young man who lost his life attempted a knife attack.
