Influencer Youcef Aziria arrested in Brest despite his house arrest

A feeling, not of insecurity, but of impunity. Algerian influencer Youcef Aziria, alias “Zazou Youcef” on social networks, was arrested on the night of Saturday September 12 to Sunday September 13 in Brest. Under house arrest in the Paris region, he had been seen several times in this Breton town by witnesses, according to information from Le Télégramme confirmed to Le Figaro. Justice must now decide whether to refer him to Brittany or Ile-de-France.

Youcef Aziria was arrested in Brest in January 2025, in the Bellevue district. Prosecuted for calling on TikTok to carry out attacks in France and violence in Algeria, he was sentenced in February 2025 to 18 months in prison by the Brest judicial court for advocating terrorism and provoking violence. The sentence was accompanied by a ban on French territory for ten years.

“I have lots of things to do and lots of things to sort out”

This conviction was fully confirmed on appeal on June 20, 2025 and Youcef Aziria had finished serving his sentence at the Ploemeur remand center (56). After his release, Youcef Aziria remained under house arrest in the Paris region pending his expulsion and was therefore prohibited from going to Brest.

At the time, his Tiktok account was followed by more than 400,000 people. After prison and five days before his arrest, Youcef Aziria opened a new account which has nearly 9,000 subscribers this Tuesday. He had again started posting videos in which he spoke mainly in Arabic. “I just got out of prison. I have lots of things to do and lots of things to sort out,” he declared in a video broadcast overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday.
