The deputy principal of a college in Maurepas indicted for rape of a minor

The deputy principal of a college in Maurepas in Yvelines was indicted in April for the rape of a student at this establishment, the Versailles prosecutor's office said on Friday, requested by AFP. In mid-April, he was indicted for rape of a minor under 15 years old by a person in authority and possession of child pornography images, this source said. Placed under judicial supervision, he is notably prohibited from carrying out any activity in contact with minors and can therefore no longer practice his profession.

Still according to the prosecution, the investigation opened on April 16 covers a period from 2020 to 2026 for the possession of child pornography images, and from 2025 to 2026 for acts of rape. Aged 38, the accused is suspected of having raped a student (14 years old at the time of the events) attending the Louis-Pergaud college in Maurepas, a town of around 20,000 inhabitants located around thirty kilometers southwest of Paris, where he worked.

Arrested at his official accommodation

On April 14, he was arrested outside school hours by the police at his official accommodation which was searched as well as his office, indicated the rectorate of the Versailles academy, requested by AFP. According to this same source, the accused was “suspended” from his duties and “a replacement was assigned upon return from the Easter holidays to complete the management team”.

Concerning the victim, she was educated in another establishment “at the request of the family for the end of the school year”, adds the rectorate. “The family of this student was supported on a daily basis by the team of their new establishment and the departmental services of National Education,” he specifies.
