YouTuber Grégory Guillotin placed in police custody for domestic violence

YouTuber and comedian Grégory Guillotin, known for his hidden cameras, was placed in police custody on Monday, September 28, after a complaint for domestic violence filed by his ex-partner, his lawyer announced. “Grégory Guillotin intends to respond fully to the facts with which he is accused, to make his version heard and to provide all the elements useful to the investigation. He does not seek to shirk and intends to assume the responsibilities which are his”, affirms Tom Michel in a press release.

The complainant, aged 27, accuses Grégory Guillotin of repeated physical and psychological violence between 2019 and 2026, at the time of their relationship. “She suffered them. I am neither going to deny them nor seek to justify them. I am ashamed,” Grégory Guillotin admitted at the beginning of September. The complaint was filed on June 17 with the Evry judicial court (Essonne). The prosecutor's office told AFP that an investigation into habitual violence against a spouse and moral harassment had been opened, entrusted to the Essonne gendarmerie group.

“I was violent with the person who shared my life”

In her complaint, of which AFP was informed, the complainant describes a system of surveillance, humiliation, insults and control. According to his version, the first blows were carried out in April 2022 at their home, in the Paris suburbs. The attack will be followed by others, she says: a kick in December 2022 in the Maldives, a slap and several kicks during a trip to Morocco in 2023, a punch in one eye in 2024.

At 43, the comedian is followed by nearly 4.5 million subscribers on his YouTube channel “Greg Guillotin”. “For years, I made millions of people laugh. At home, on several occasions, I was also violent with the person who shared my life. Both are true. Both have been me. I never want to be the second again,” he reacted, claiming to have been in therapy ever since.
