LH implements ‘2026 Living Forest Healing Program’ for rental housing residents aged 65 or older

(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Lim Ki-chang = Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) announced on the 28th that it will implement the '2026 Living Forest Healing Program' to support the emotional stability and health promotion of residents over 65 years old living in LH rental housing.

This project, introduced in 2023, is a collaborative project between LH and the Korea Forest Welfare Agency, and provides forest-based experience activities to residents of rental homes by utilizing landscaping in rental homes and specialized forest welfare facilities operated by the agency.

This year, the event will be held for approximately 1,000 residents of complexes in their 50s across the country until November.

It consists of activities inside the complex, such as making a companion tree, planting herbs, and taking a herbal foot bath, and outside activities such as aromatherapy, tea ceremony experience, and forest meditation.

LH explained that as a result of analyzing the program participants, it was confirmed that the program achieved emotional stabilization effects such as a high level of satisfaction with an average of 98 points, reduction of loneliness, and improvement of social networks.

An LH official said, "We are operating a multifaceted living support system to ensure the emotional stability and health management of seniors living in rental housing," and added, "We will continue to expand residential life services so that seniors living in rental housing can live comfortably and healthily."
