Rescuers found the body of a 30-year-old male tourist after being swept away at Khau Lan waterfall

After two days of searching, Tuyen Quang rescue forces on the afternoon of September 3 located the victim's body deep in a cave behind Khau Lan waterfall, Quan Ba ​​commune, according to VNA.

The search area has rugged terrain, above is a strong waterfall, fast-flowing water, and limited underwater visibility. Rescuers had to survey many locations around the base of the waterfall, crevices, rock cavities and caves to determine where the victims were trapped.

After approaching, officials took the body out and handed it over to the locality and family to take care of the funeral.

A 30-year-old male tourist living in Ho Chi Minh City and a friend went to bathe in the waterfall area on the evening of September 1 when they drowned and were swept into the cave area at the foot of the waterfall. Authorities organized a search that night.

Khau Lan Waterfall is located in the valley of Quan Ba ​​commune, about 40 km from the old center of Ha Giang. The waterfall is about 20 m high, more than 10 m wide, the water flows strongly over large rocks and then falls into the lake below. Several large tree trunks lie across the lake.

A representative of the Department of Culture and Information of Quan Ba ​​district said that Khau Lan waterfall has not been put into tourism use yet, tourists come here mainly spontaneously.

Tuyen Quang officials advise people and tourists not to arbitrarily bathe in waterfalls and streams, especially after heavy rain. When visiting, visitors need to pay attention to warning signs, follow local instructions, and choose a safe area to prevent accidents.
