Mannheim City Council Member Julien Ferrat Claims He Organized a Swinger Party at the City Hall

The swinger party that City Council member Julien Ferrat said he organized at the City Hall in Mannheim, Germany's Baden-Württemberg state, became a hot topic in the country.

Ferrat, who represents the "Die Mannheimer" voter group in the city council, claimed that the event, which he had been announcing to the public for weeks, took place on the evening of August 28.

According to Ferrat, the meeting, which was initially planned as a "local politics meeting", later turned into a "political swinger party".

According to Ferrat's statement, a total of 9 people, 7 men and 2 women, attended the event.

It was stated that the meeting was held in hall 58a in the municipality building, and that Ferrat had previously reserved the hall for the purpose of meeting with citizens.

According to SWR, Ferrat was seen with his entourage at the town hall on the evening in question. However, the details of the event's content are largely based on Ferrat's own narrative.

Mannheim Municipality announced that it had serious reservations about holding the event in the city hall after Ferrat announced his plan to the public.

The municipality announced that it had notified Ferrat in writing that the halls allocated to him could not be used for events involving nudity, swinger parties or similar purposes.

According to the municipal administration, Ferrat may have used the hall given to him for purposes other than its intended purpose.

SANCTIONS ARE ON THE AGENDA

The Municipality of Mannheim stated that the incident could amount to a "grave breach" of the City Council members' obligations towards the institution.

It was reported that the Municipal Council will decide whether a fine or other sanction will be imposed on Ferrat.

Ferrat, on the other hand, argues that the event was not a private entertainment, but an act of political protest.

Ferrat, who wants a special area for nudists and swingers to be created in Mannheim, argues that such a project can revitalize tourism and provide economic income to the municipality.

Ferrat had previously argued that the town hall was suitable for such an event due to its central location and said that he could take legal action if his plan was blocked.

Mannheim Municipality, on the other hand, emphasizes that the connection of Ferrat's proposal with his political duties is controversial and that the rules for the use of municipal spaces must be followed.
