Speculations and Statements on the Presidential Meeting with Mansur Yavaş

Actually, I shouldn't have written this article either. It's as if I would have contributed to the uproar over Mr. Mansur's visit to the president. Yes, I apologize in advance, but I couldn't help myself, you can guess that I didn't write to continue speculation. This is a counter article.

We were in the Habertürk studio in the evening when the photographs of the President and Mansur Yavaş in Beştepe were published, of course the subject changed immediately.

It was literally the breaking news of the day and, in street parlance, it was as if a bomb had dropped.

It was an evening that started with why, why, what does this photo say, and where all kinds of opinions were expressed everywhere, on channels and on social media; Of course, it continued in the following days. Mr. Mansur made two statements, the last of which was the day before. Even these statements were not believed by some, especially in the opposition, and they continued to look for a calf under the ox. Conspiracy theories are rampant.

That night, there were people who said that this photo was not given in vain. I wonder if he doesn't want to be nominated as the opposition candidate and not have an investigation opened against him? He joins the AKP and takes on a very important role in the government system that will be established after the election... In addition to Ankara asking for help from the president in solving the problems, it was even claimed that this was also discussed.

One of the comments was that the president opened the door to Mansur Yavaş within the framework of the investigation opened against the Gökçek family. According to pro-government media and spokespeople, Yavaş will change parties or remain independent and get closer to the ruling bloc.

Names such as Fatih Atik also declared their allegiance "according to the information they received from Yavaş's close circle". According to Yeni Şafak, he said, "I am under the command of my state."

There was also the question of why he went to Beştepe instead of going to Anıtkabir and the reception that night on the anniversary of the founding of the CHP.

This statement forgot that the appointment came from the president.

It was also questioned why the President made an appointment on the very day of the CHP's founding. There was something involved! Another answer to this was that Beştepe aimed to create a rift and a crisis within the opposition bloc, which I think was an almost accurate observation.

I think even if this meeting had happened later, there would have been all this speculation.

That night, Özgür Özel was on Koza TV, this issue was asked and Özgür Bey said, "I have news, he requested a meeting for Ankara's problems. He went with our approval."

I said that Mr. Özgün's words "with our approval" were wrong and unnecessary, and I still think so.

Mr. Mansur made two statements to end the speculations. In the first one, he said, "I won't embarrass those who love me." In the second one, he explained that the meeting was completely technical and focused on Ankara. He stated that he met with the president for mandatory permits, such as the approval of $1.3 billion metro investments in the capital and the approval of 800 million Euros of Treasury bonds.

He said that he informed the CHP leader, as well as Özgür Bey, before the meeting. Yavaş emphasized that the political differences at the ceiling do not concern him.

Mr. Mansur does not discuss his possible candidacy. But he also shows signs that he can act more independently as he is approached.

It would be political folly for the opposition to "corner" Mr. Mansur as long as he is the most electable candidate.
