Mato Grosso do Sul remains on alert for storms this Saturday (12). The warning from the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) is valid until 11:59 pm and predicts rain of up to 100 millimeters per day, winds of up to 100 km/h and the possibility of hail in areas of the state. There is a risk of flooding, falling trees, damage to crops and interruption in electricity supply.

The most severe warning, classified as danger, covers areas in the southwest, east and center-north of Mato Grosso do Sul. Another warning, of lesser intensity, is also valid for these regions and includes the Pantanal of Mato Grosso do Sul.

The forecast maintains the scenario of instability after the storms that hit the state in recent days. On Thursday (10), a storm with winds of up to 83 km/h caused trees and poles to fall, power outages and left schools without classes in Campo Grande.

Between the night of Friday (11) and the early hours of this Saturday, rain hit different regions of Mato Grosso do Sul.

According to data from Cemaden, Nioaque recorded 59.6 millimeters, the highest accumulated among the stations monitored in the period. In Bonito, volumes reached 52.6 mm, in addition to records of 45.6 mm and 45 mm in other stations in the municipality.

High accumulations were also recorded in Dois Irmãos do Buriti (47.8 mm), Maracaju (44.6 mm), Aquidauana (33.8 mm), Itaquiraí (29.6 mm) and Dourados (22 mm).

In Campo Grande, the highest volumes were 4.2 mm at the UPA Aparecida Gonçalves Saraiva station and 1.6 mm at Jardim Panamá.

Despite the rain forecast, some regions of Mato Grosso do Sul will still experience high temperatures this Saturday.

The highest predicted maximum is 37°C in Cassilândia. Pedro Gomes, Alcinópolis and Paranaíba can reach 35°C. Chapadão do Sul, Costa Rica, Coxim, Sonora, Figueirão and Inocência must register up to 34°C.

In the south of the state, temperatures are milder. Amambai, Sete Quedas, Ponta Porã, Coronel Sapucaia and Aral Moreira should have minimum temperatures of 18°C.

Among the highest volumes of rain predicted for this Saturday are 62.5 mm in Coronel Sapucaia, 40.7 mm in Amambai, 39.5 mm in Angélica and 37.9 mm in Ivinhema.

Inmet's danger warning predicts rain of between 30 and 60 mm per hour or up to 100 mm per day, in addition to intense winds of 60 to 100 km/h and the possibility of hail.

According to the institute, the combination can cause electricity cuts, falling trees, flooding and damage to plantations.

There is also a second alert, classified as potential danger, with forecasts of rain of up to 50 mm per day, winds of 40 to 60 km/h and the possibility of hail. The warning also affects areas in the southwest, east, central-north and Pantanal of Mato Grosso do Sul.

On Sunday (13), the trend is for temperatures to fall, especially in the south of the state. The forecast indicates a minimum of 13°C in Coronel Sapucaia and Ponta Porã.

The highs also decrease. Cassilândia and Alcinópolis should reach 32°C, while Chapadão do Sul, Paranaíba and Costa Rica could register 31°C.

Rain continues to be forecast for several regions. Jardim and Guia Lopes da Laguna can accumulate up to 35.9 mm, while Coronel Sapucaia can record 26.4 mm.
