Mexico, four students killed: hunt for 'El Trompas'

Four victims in a few months. All connected to the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Morelos, in Mexico. Four young women shot to death by the same hand, that of a man whom investigators have identified but not yet captured. The last one was called Claudia Tacoronte Aguilera, she was 21 years old and was in Cuautla for an Erasmus period. The young Spanish woman was stabbed to death in the same university where three other girls who died in the last 7 months studied: 18-year-old Kimberly Yoselin Ramos Beltrán, her peer Karol Toledo Gómez and 15-year-old Michelle Itzayana Fuentes Calderón.

The culprit has been identified

A sequence of crimes that fueled the protest of university students worried about the lack of security. The Fiscalía General del Estado de Morelos, the Mexican state prosecutor's office, has opened an investigation into femicide. The authorities identified the alleged perpetrator, Francisco Javier "N" known by the nickname "El Trompas" or "Paco", and obtained an arrest warrant against him. The investigators, writes El País, arrived at his identification through the images of the security cameras and the information collected in the area.
