Milan starts carpooling experimentation with BePooler to reduce traffic and costs

The Municipality of Milan and the metropolitan city, in collaboration with BePooler, are starting the experimentation on carpooling with the aim of reducing traffic in the city thanks to shared trips and reducing travel costs for those who use it.

There are currently five ATM car parks involved: Cascina Gobba, Caterina da Forlì, Famagosta, Molino Dorino and Rogoredo.

BePooler users who share the journey with at least one passenger can book and use a parking space for free.

"Sharing the home-work route to the city - said the Municipality's Mobility Councilor Arianna Censi - as well as contributing to reducing the number of vehicles entering Milan and the polluting emissions generated by traffic, is a very simple way to save on travel costs, from fuel to parking".

The experimentation will allow us to evaluate the effectiveness of the service and the possibility of extending it and making it stable, possibly increasing the number of spaces dedicated to carpooling and facilitating access even during large events, concerts and sporting events.

After downloading the BePooler app on your smartphone and registering, just enter your route and check the compatible travel proposals. The trip must be shared with at least one other passenger, as driver or passenger.
