At least 11 dead in Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon, including two paramedics

At least 11 people have been killed, including two paramedics, in Israeli attacks early this Monday against a building and a civilian vehicle in the city of Kfar Rumman, in the Nabatieh district, in southern Lebanon, official sources reported. “Enemy forces carried out another bloody massacre in the city of Kfar Rumman, leaving nine martyrs and five wounded,” said the Lebanese national news agency, NNA. This media indicated that two paramedics later lost their lives in another attack by an Israeli drone against a civilian vehicle in that city.

The same source highlighted that the bombing, in which five people were injured, occurred "just after midnight", when "enemy warplanes bombed and destroyed a three-story residential building (...) in Kfar Rumman", in the south of Nabatieh.

“Ambulance teams from various health organizations quickly rushed to the scene and worked to recover the bodies of the nine martyrs, including two babies, as well as the five injured,” he added.

The state media detailed that later "an enemy drone attacked a civilian vehicle in Kfar Rumman, killing two paramedics from the Al Resala Islamic Association, who were inside."

Israeli aviation also carried out a series of bombings against the towns of Nabatieh Al Fawqa and Arab Salim, which caused the destruction of a building, the agency added without disclosing further details.

This new attack occurs shortly after the Israeli Army attacked and destroyed, according to NNA, another building located in the town of Deir Azharani, also in Nabatieh but located further north, with no casualties reported.

The Israeli Army had announced hours earlier an air attack against the Deir Azharani building after alleging that it was linked to the Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah.

Israel has intensified its offensives against southern Lebanon in the last two days after claiming that its soldiers had managed to shoot down one of two drones allegedly launched by Hezbollah against its soldiers “in the Security Zone” established by the Israeli Army in the southern part of Lebanon.

With those of this Monday, the number of fatalities in Israeli bombings against Nabatieh and several surrounding towns now rises to at least 15.

The president of Lebanon, Joseph Aoun, denounced on Sunday the new Israeli attacks as a “dangerous escalation” for affecting state institutions and health centers, and affirmed that these attacks “go beyond” the repeated violations of the cessation of hostilities agreement and the framework agreement of last June.

According to the latest figures from the Lebanese Ministry of Health, Israeli attacks in Lebanon have caused 4,362 deaths, which with the 11 new ones would rise to 4,373, in addition to almost 12,400 wounded since last March 2, shortly after the start of the United States and Israel's war against Iran.
