Bus overturns and passengers are injured on highway in Bahia

A bus accident left at least 25 people injured, on Saturday (26), on a section of BA-489, in the city of Prado, in the extreme south of Bahia.

According to information from one of the passengers, the driver had avoided a bicycle that was on the road and then a collision occurred. After the accident, the car left the road and fell into a wooded area next to the road.

The case was registered by the Itabuna Road Police Company. The victims, who were on their way to a political event, were taken to the Emergency Care Unit (UPA) in Prado.

In contact with g1, the municipality's Health Secretary, Cassio Cocobongo, reported that the majority of people treated had minor injuries and abrasions, but three patients required treatment.

Among these victims are two people who were taken to Costa das Baleias Hospital, in Teixeira de Freitas, due to fractures.

Despite this, as the secretary detailed, all patients are stable and, so far, there is no record of a victim in serious condition.

In a statement, the company Dyogo Transportes, responsible for the collective, expressed solidarity with the victims and informed that it is offering the necessary support to them at this time.

The company also thanked people who were passing by at the time of the accident and who helped save passengers and employees.
