Budget criticism from Özgür Özel

New Party Chairman Özgür Özel took the podium at his party's weekly group meeting in the Parliament. Özel said the following in summary:

Our nation gave the instructions for the establishment of the New Party. Our nation created the budget of this party. That's why we have a great responsibility towards our nation. As we set out, we promised that nothing would be the same again. We said that the say, authority and decision-making authority will be entirely in the hands of the members. We said that if there are many candidates, we will submit them to the pre-selection of the members. This weekend we had provincial elections in which all our members could vote. We made a promise after the rally in Yozgat, where we filled the square. We met with our members in Yozgat on Saturday. Then we were in Kırıkkale and then in the Capital.

If I made the decision alone, I would definitely be wrong; We said that 2 thousand 300 people should live in Yozgat and decide in Yozgat. We said that 5 thousand people should make their decision in Kırıkkale and 64 thousand people in Ankara. Our current membership number is 772 thousand. On Sunday, 65 percent of our members went to the polls and directly determined the management of the party. We all see together that provincial presidents will now receive power directly from the members. It will set an example for all parties in the future. When we come to power, we will implement this for all parties.

Our nation is experiencing livelihood and survival problems. Anxiety about the future did not fall from the sky. You cannot build the right wall with the wrong bricks. The funding crisis is getting deeper every day. While 20 billion dollars were talked about in the first weeks, today impartial experts on the subject are talking about 110 billion dollars. The former CMB chairman was in office until yesterday. Finally, 3 of them resigned yesterday and signed saying "I was dismissed yesterday."

In the first week, we said how we would solve this problem as a bill. Our people prepared that the full list of profiteers should be disclosed, their assets should be seized, and how to go after the money smuggled to other countries. We showed the way 4 weeks ago. They opened a repentance account and proposed that if you deposit the money you stole into this account, I will leave you alone. They entered the period of resign and get rid of. For a stock market to be stable, there must be as many buyers as sellers. The buyer must be enthusiastic so that it can be traded on the stock exchange. Total expenses are 27 Trillion liras, total income is 23 Trillion liras. The budget deficit is 3.9 trillion lira. Our budget deficit will increase by 42 percent, it will be the largest budget deficit in the history of the Republic. Taxes will increase by 36 percent compared to last year. The inflation target will be 21 percent. Taxes will increase by 36 percent, inflation is predicted to be 21 percent. They will collect taxes 15 points above inflation.

The amount to be paid in interest is 3.9 Trillion lira and this will increase compared to last year. This budget will never bring prosperity to 87 million people. The year 2026 was bad; Unfortunately, 2027 will be much worse.

We experienced a flood disaster in Istanbul and lost 8 people. We wish patience to their families and mercy to them. The place hardest hit by the flood is the Ayazağa stream bed. Mahmut Işıldak was 16 years old and lost his father 6 months ago. While taking off his shoes to prevent them from getting wet, he was electrocuted and died. This nation will answer for this at the ballot box.
