Em entrevista à TV Clube, Amparo Sousa, representante do Conselho Estadual de Defesa dos Direitos da Pessoa com Deficiência, informou que cerca de 400 pessoas estão cadastradas no serviço. No entanto, a empresa responsável dispõe de nove veículos, e apenas cinco circulam diariamente.
“Nós não podemos ter direito a todas as políticas que a gente conquistou ao longo desses anos, como trabalho, saúde, educação e lazer, se a gente não tem o direito de ir e vir. Todos os dias, as pessoas com deficiência estão tendo o seu direito de ir e vir violado”, disse.
Entre as reclamações apresentadas durante o protesto estão a dificuldade para agendar o transporte e os problemas de manutenção dos veículos. Uma das manifestantes, usuária de cadeira de rodas, relatou que os passageiros enfrentam dificuldades para conseguir atendimento.
“Ninguém está conseguindo agendar. O transporte hoje está cheio de regra. Hoje o cadeirante, se ele conseguir agendar, tem que ir para aquele local. Não está tendo manutenção dos carros. Os carros só andam quebrados”, comentou à TV Clube.
