PF launches Operation Spokesperson against bid fraud in Padre Carvalho/MG

According to the PF, the action, called Spokesperson, is an offshoot of Operation Dolomita, launched in 2025, and aimed to continue the investigation into bidding fraud, embezzlement of public resources and money laundering.

According to the PF, three search and seizure warrants were executed at companies and suspects' homes. The police collected cell phones, documents and a weapon. The names of those investigated were not disclosed.

"The investigations, which began in 2024, showed signs of irregularities in bidding processes aimed at recovering local roads in the municipality of Padre Carvalho/MG, paid for with public resources in the amount of R$606 thousand."

The PF reported that R$573,000 of this amount came from federal funds and had an engineering company as its main beneficiary. The Federal Regional Court of the 6th Region (TRF-6) authorized the searches and seizures and the breach of banking, telephone and telematic confidentiality of those investigated.

"With the new phase of the operation, we seek to collect greater evidence about the crime under investigation and identify the value of the damage caused to the treasury."
