From now on, organic products of Italian origin will be immediately recognisable. On the occasion of the "European Organic Day" the Italian organic brand was presented, which will accompany the organic production logo of the European Union.

The brand, formed by the intertwining of three green, white and red leaves, will clearly identify organic products made with raw materials grown or raised in Italy, contributing, Masaf underlines in a note, "to protect national production and to the further development of a sector in which Italy continues to be a point of reference in the EU".

For the occasion, the main data of the latest "Bio in figures" report soon to be published, edited by Ismea, in collaboration with Ciheam Bari, as part of the Masaf "Dimecobio" and "Pro4DatiBio" programs, were also released today.

In detail, according to the report, "in 2025 the positive dynamics of domestic consumption will strengthen, increasing by over 9 percent compared to the previous year. The value of consumption of organic products in Italy reaches 4.4 billion euros (+9.2% on 2024), the highest ever recorded, with an incidence of 4% on the total value of national agri-food spending. There are 8 regions together with the Autonomous Province of Bolzano which have already exceeded the European target of 25% of agricultural surface used organically, which in 2025 has an overall impact of 19.4% on the total national surface area (2,377,749 hectares). Organic operators amount to 95,389, of which 85,443 are agricultural companies".
