Sigfrido Ranucci, through his lawyers, formally contests Rai's decision to change the management of Reports, the legitimacy of which "is fully contested, with the express reservation of any action, including precautionary and urgent, aimed at obtaining the cessation of its effects and the restoration of the previous situation, as well as compensation for all consequent damages". The request for clarifications and documentation, the lawyers Roberto De Vita and Stefano Rossi write in the communication to Rai, "therefore does not imply, nor can it be interpreted as, acquiescence, acceptance or waiver of any right, action or exception".

After days of waiting, Rai's decision on Report and the future of Sigfrido Ranucci arrived yesterday but the case is far from closed. On the one hand there is Ranucci who is not willing to accept Rai's proposals based on the correspondence from Cairo and announces battle; on the other, a significant part of the Report editorial team, with the historic correspondents in the front row, who are threatening resignation against the management entrusted to Giulia Presutti and Daniele Piervincenzi who are silent for the moment.
Next Wednesday the editorial team of the Raitre program will have a meeting with the Director of Insights Paolo Corsini: ''where we will reiterate our position, with the hope, given that the vast majority of correspondents intend to abandon the program, that they will reconsider'', Bernardo Iovine explained to ANSA. "If Rai does not withdraw the proposal we will hold a press conference and we appeal to our public and civil society to support us", explains the historic correspondent who yesterday refused the role of chief author with Giulio Valesini. But while waiting for the Rai issues to be resolved, the political conflict knows no respite.
"I read that Ranucci is very irritated by the fact that Report will no longer be his programme. Maybe he expected a medal after everything that happened? Did he expect the President of the Republic to call him and give him institutional recognition, a Grand Cross of Knight of the Republic for what he has done?" Ironically the Minister for Relations with Parliament, Luca Ciriani. "The decision on Ranucci was an inevitable one, given the nonsense he has spread for years and the discredit he has cast on himself and on Report due to the terrible interactions he has had", says FI senator Maurizio Gasparri, member of the Rai Supervisory Commission. ''For the right, Report and Ranucci are a real obsession. TeleMeloni could no longer tolerate the independence of the journalists of the Report editorial team", says AVS group leader Peppe De Cristofaro, president of the Misto group of Palazzo Madama.
"The right is preparing for the next political elections, and it does so starting from the public service, from Rai. On its way it does not want free information, that which controls and asks questions. It prefers convenient information, which does not disturb the majority and the government". Unirai comes to the defense of Presutti and Piervincenzi from within the company: ''Solidarity with the colleagues indicated by Rai to conduct the Report. Ranucci cannot offend and define the company's choice as "mediocre". The journalists on which Rai has bet are two competition winners with long professional experience in investigative journalism behind them". Unirai writes this in a note.
''Even more serious is the use of the term "collaborationists", which is not a simple criticism: it is a defamatory label, which affects the professional dignity of colleagues and presents them to public opinion as people who have betrayed their role. In Rai they don't serve clams''. Ranucci meanwhile continues his tour in Sicily between book presentations and theatrical performances. Today he even received an award. ''The paradox. Although I am no longer the host of Report for Rai, today I receive the 48th National Garitta Award, as best television host, thanks to a national survey on a sample of 3000 subjects, carried out in recent weeks. Thank you for your passion and dedication,'' he writes on Facebook.
For him the evening ends with his Diary of a trapeze artist at the Teatro dell'Elfo in Agrigento, again not without controversy. Fratelli d'Italia disputes the opportunity to grant that public space to the Free Consortium of Agrigento for its show.
