Raids in several federal states because of suspected Nazi music

The police are carrying out searches in several federal states because of the alleged distribution of inciting Nazi music. In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Schleswig-Holstein and Bavaria, the premises of four suspects are being searched, as the Rostock public prosecutor's office and the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania State Criminal Police Office (LKA) announced. They are accused of being members of a right-wing extremist criminal organization.

The accused, aged 55, 52, 48 and 43, are suspected of having joined forces permanently by 2020 at the latest "in order to work together in an organized manner to spread a National Socialist, anti-Semitic, racist and inhumane ideology through the division of labor production and sale of recordings with inciting music content."

Measures in other federal states and abroad

According to information, there are also searches in Baden-Württemberg, Brandenburg, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Saxony and Thuringia, which are aimed at eight other suspects. This involves sedition crimes in connection with the sound recording productions of the alleged criminal organization.

According to the information, further searches, including in Berlin, are taking place on a total of ten people who are not suspected of the crime and who are close to the accused. Searches also take place in other European countries, namely in Estonia, Italy, Poland and the Czech Republic.

No arrests are planned. The aim is to clarify existing suspicions. Under the direction of the LKA Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, more than 390 police forces from the participating federal states, the federal government and neighboring European countries are deployed.
