RB Leipzig beats HSV 5-0, Bayern narrowly wins against Elversberg

RB Leipzig and coach Martín Demichelis clearly won at home against Hamburger SV. With their third goalless game lost in a row, Hamburg is slipping further into crisis. The Saxons won 5-0 (2-0) against the bottom of the table on matchday 3 of the Bundesliga. RB gave the criticized Argentinian Demichelis a much quieter week. HSV coach Merlin Polzin, on the other hand, has to deal with the second 5-0 defeat in a row. His club is now in last place in the table – with zero goals and twelve goals conceded.

Leipzig effortlessly controlled the game on Sunday afternoon. Tidiam Gomis (12th minute) scored for the first time in front of 47,800 fans in the Leipzig stadium, Norway's World Cup participant Antonio Nusa (28th) increased the score after a Hamburg defensive mistake. In the second half, RB defense chief Willi Orban scored (72nd). Christopher Nkunku (74th) scored the first goal after his return and Romulo (77th) scored shortly afterwards to make the final score 5-0.

When making his first squad nomination on Thursday, national coach Jürgen Klopp will most likely have to do without Leipzig's Assan Ouédraogo, who had to leave the field injured before the break. After a duel with Albert Grönbaek, the German international Ouédraogo held his right shoulder with his face distorted in pain. The 20-year-old had already missed the entire month of August due to a shoulder injury. Now there is a risk of a longer outage again.

SV Elversberg – FC Bayern Munich 1:2 (0:1)

Bayern Munich barely avoided embarrassment at newly promoted SV Elversberg. Elversberg lost to the record champions 1:2 (0:1) at the end of the third match day. Bayern avoided another setback after the draw at Schalke 04 last week.

In front of around 9,300 spectators in Saarland's Waldstadion Kaiserlinde, Lennart Karl shot Munich into the lead in the 26th minute. Maurice Krattenmacher (61') equalized after the break. Harry Kane, Bundesliga top scorer last season, finally scored to give Bayern the lead again (72nd), who are now fourth in the table with seven points. After their first defeat of the season, Elversberg is sixth in the table with six points.
