Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov held around 50 meetings in New York during UN visit

MOSCOW, September 27. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held around 50 meetings during his three-day stay in New York, including 42 rounds of full-fledged talks, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told Vesti.

"During the nearly three days we spent there, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held around 50 meetings. Of those, 42 were rounds of full-fledged talks. I think many people followed our social media and website. All of this was covered with videos, photos, and corresponding reports. Forty-two ministers, prime ministers, and heads of state came to the Russian room, the Russian delegation’s room, for what I would once again describe as traditional talks," the diplomat said.

"There were also so-called meetings on the sidelines. So, around 50 meetings in total, speeches at the Security Council and the General Assembly. And we always feel that this is not enough, so there was also a press conference lasting more than an hour for foreign correspondents, as well as Russian journalists and those accredited to the UN, where every single question was answered. That is roughly how those three days went, followed by a night on the plane," the Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman added.
