Heavy downpour paralyzed life in Sakarya

The rainfall, which started yesterday in the Darıçayırı District of Karasu district, following the meteorological warning, continued intensely at night and in the morning. Due to the rain, the stream passing through the neighborhood overflowed in the morning. As a result of the overflow of the stream, many houses and workplaces in the neighborhood were flooded. While citizens were having a hard time due to floods, work was started in the region.

While precautions are being taken against floods in the neighborhood due to the continuing effect of the rain, studies are expected to be carried out to determine the damages caused after the flood.

In Sakarya, the heavy rain that started last night continues to continue its effect. After the rain, which increased in intensity yesterday evening, the streets and avenues in Adapazarı district were covered with water, and vehicles had difficulty in moving.

While the underground parking lot of a shopping mall in Serdivan district was flooded, the shops in Dörtyol Industrial Site in Erenler district were filled with water.

Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality teams gathered with the code 'Emergency' due to the heavy rain that started in the early hours of the morning and continues to increase its effect. Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Secretary General Fikret Bayhan chaired the meeting held at AKOM, where Fire Department, Transportation, Police, Technical Works, Road Maintenance Department Heads, Deputy General Secretaries, SASKİ General Manager and Heads of Departments were present.
