While volunteer women at the Janfada Training Center in Tehran were trained on the use of weapons and basic military duties, the images recorded at the center showed women doing practical work with weapons under the supervision of soldiers.
THEY USED GUNS
Footage broadcast by state television showed female volunteers attending classes at the training centre, performing practical exercises and receiving basic military instructions from soldiers. Some women were captured on video using guns under the supervision of soldiers.
Instructor Masoud Zare pointed out the importance of social preparation in the defense of the country and said, "The most important deterrent element for a nation is the level of preparation that nation has when facing the enemy. The most important element for peace is the power of the people."
'I FEEL RESPONSIBLE TOWARDS MY COUNTRY'
Women who participated in the training said that they participated in the program to prepare for emergencies and contribute to the defense of their country.
Fatemeh, one of the volunteers, stated that for her, Iran is not just a country where she lives, and said, "Iran is my homeland, my identity, my history, my culture and my roots. I feel a responsibility towards my country."
Another volunteer, Malakeh Dadashi, said that his motivation was "to defend his country". Dadashi expressed that he wanted to make a contribution, no matter how small, to the protection of his people.
CLAIM OF MOBILIZATION OF 31 MILLION PEOPLE
The military training for women is part of the broader Janfada, or "Dedicated to Iran", campaign launched in Iran this year.
The campaign was launched during the conflict in the first months of this year. According to Iranian organizers, approximately 31 million people have registered for Janfada. While 32 percent of these people were women, it was stated that more than 60 percent of the participants were under the age of 46.
However, it is not stated that everyone who registered for the campaign wants to undertake military or security duties. According to organizers, only some of the volunteers apply for military or security roles, while others want to contribute in areas such as rescue efforts, social services, cultural activities or financial support.
It was reported that the civilian education program within the scope of Janfada in Iran was further expanded in Tehran this month. According to news in Iranian media, it is planned to establish 1,000 national resistance units in the country and provide military training and emergency response training to volunteers. In current practice, civil military training centers have begun to operate under the umbrella of Janfada in Tehran.
'RESISTANCE BATTALION OF THOUSAND PEOPLE'
The Janfada campaign emerged in late March, during the period of conflict between Iran and the United States and Israel. Authorities at the time called on citizens to support the country's defense.
It was stated that the campaign in Iran is not limited to military preparation only, but also aims for voluntary participation in different areas such as emergency response and civil services. Plans for organizing volunteers and creating 1,000 national resistance battalions were brought to the agenda at the widely attended event held within the scope of Janfada in Tehran in September.
'MOBILIZATION CONTINUES'
The broader conflict between Iran and the United States eased with the Islamabad Memorandum, which was signed in June following a mediation process with the support of Pakistan and Qatar.
In addition to halting military operations, the agreement paved the way for negotiations covering sanctions, Iran's nuclear program and navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
However, the negotiations between the parties have not resulted in a final agreement to date. For this reason, the Tehran administration continues its Janfada mobilization to increase civilian preparedness capacity against external threats.
