The process continues in the landslide disaster case in Samsun

In the incident that took place on the night of April 27, 2025, at the gas station next to Lovelet AVM in Samsun's Canik district, Adem Kaya (35), his wife Çiğdem Kaya (31) and their daughters Açelya Mina (7) and Ayla (5), who were washing their vehicles in the car wash section, were buried under the rubble as a result of a landslide.

While father Adem Kaya and his 2 daughters died at the scene, mother Çiğdem Kaya was rescued injured.

In the indictment prepared by the Samsun Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the incident, it was stated that the disaster occurred as a result of occupational safety negligence. In the indictment, a prison sentence of 2 to 15 years was requested within the scope of TCK 85/2 for Mehmet Zeki Gedikli, the owner of the gas station, and Kemal Yıldırım, who was stated to have acted as a de facto manager in the business.

The case was previously heard at Samsun 6th High Criminal Court. After the closure of Samsun 6th High Criminal Court, the file was transferred to Samsun 5th High Criminal Court. It was learned that the case regarding the disaster in which the father and his 2 little daughters lost their lives and the mother was injured will continue to be heard at Samsun 5th High Criminal Court on October 1.
