Evening of terror in Reggio Emilia: boy attacks woman with screwdriver and runs over two rescuers

Evening of terror at a petrol station on the outskirts of Reggio Emilia: around 7pm a boy attacked a woman who was refueling with a screwdriver. Then he took the car and hit two people - a girl and a man - who had stopped to help the woman, before fleeing. He was identified and arrested about an hour later: he is a 26-year-old born in Reggio Emilia. The three injured were taken to hospital under code 3 and are serious, although from what has emerged they are not in immediate danger of their lives. The boy was caught in synergy between the State Police, Carabinieri and local police. His psychological condition is being examined.

Searches are underway at the 26-year-old's home

Police investigations are underway, coordinated by the Reggio Emilia Prosecutor's Office, led by the prosecutor Calogero Gaetano Paci, to investigate the act committed by the 26-year-old. The scene would have been partially filmed by cameras. This is a young man born in the city to a family of Egyptian origins. A search is underway in the house where the arrested man lives and the flying squad is in the hospital to interview the victims, when possible, to understand if they knew the attacker.
