Sevilay Öztürk Won Her Second Gold Medal at the European Championship

Sevilay Öztürk competed in the women's 50 meter butterfly S5 final in the organization held at the Gebze Olympic Swimming Pool in Gebze district of Kocaeli.

Sevilay, who beat her opponents in the final with a time of 43.35, won her second gold medal in the championship after the 50-meter backstroke S5 category. In this category, another national athlete, Esra Yüce, won the silver medal with a time of 45.30.

Competing in the men's 100-meter breaststroke SB7 final in the organization, Turgut Aslan Yaraman finished second with a time of 1.18.36 and won the silver medal.

Sevilay Öztürk, who won her second gold medal in the European Championship, told the AA reporter after the final race, "I was very excited. I was aiming for the first place medal again. It was also important for me to improve my degree. I was very proud of improving my degree and singing our National Anthem. I don't remember how the race went because we swam for seconds. It feels like we are jumping into the water and getting out of the water again." he said.

Stating that achieving his goals motivated him even more, Sevilay stated that he wanted to continue his championships in the World Championship to be held in 2027.
