SNS ticket scalping rampant… Top 10 accounts expected sales of 1.1 billion won

According to the '2024-2026 scalping monitoring data' submitted by the Korean Popular Music Performance Industry Association on the 21st by Jeong Jun-ho of the Democratic Party of Korea (Bukgu-gap, Gwangju, Jeollanam-do), 931 sales posts were posted on a scalping account on X (formerly Twitter) from January to August.

The expected sales of this account were estimated at 216.98 million won, and the expected sales of the top 10 accounts with the highest number of scalping accounts during the same period were all estimated at 1.1 billion won.

There were a total of 6,020 posts from the top 10 accounts, and it was found that tickets with an average cost of 150,000 to 230,000 won were resold at an additional cost of 16,000 to 37,000 won.

There were 8,912 posts selling concert tickets for BTS, which was the most, followed by NCT ​​Dream with 7,774 posts, Day6 with 6,577 posts, NCT Wish with 5,895 posts, and Lim Young-woong with 5,145 posts.

Rep. Jeong said, “The route for trading scalped tickets appears to be dispersing from existing used trading platforms to SNS,” and added, “The system needs to be supplemented in line with evolving methods.”
