Expulsion decision from Social Democracy Association to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu

Social Democracy Association (SDD) announced that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was "appointed" as the CHP Chairman by court decision, was expelled from his association membership by the decision of the honorary board.

Chairman Sami Doğan made the statement: "As a result of the examination and evaluation process carried out by the SDD Honor Board in line with the relevant provisions in our association charter, it has been decided to expel our member Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu from our association due to his statements and actions contrary to the programs and principles in our association charter."

"NO PERSON, OFFICE OR DUTY IS ABOVE THESE RULES"

Doğan's written statement is as follows:

"Our association continues its work in line with social democratic values based on democracy, freedom, equality, justice, solidarity and the rule of law within the framework of our charter and relevant legislation. In our understanding, democratic organization is a structure where different ideas can be expressed freely, pluralism and mutual respect are essential, but everyone is equally obliged to comply with common principles and rules.

Association membership is not only a relationship of belonging, but also brings with it the responsibility to comply with the principles and rules specified in the association's charter. For this reason, it is a fundamental obligation for all our members to act in accordance with the goals and principles of our association and to avoid attitudes and behaviors that may harm the reputation and working order of the institution. "No person, position or duty is above these rules."

"In this regard, as a result of the review and evaluation process carried out by the SDD Honor Board in line with the relevant provisions in our association charter, it has been decided to expel our member Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu from our association due to his statements and actions contrary to the programs and principles in our association charter.

This decision was not the result of any personal evaluation or hostility, but was made entirely within the framework of our association's statute, relevant legislation and the decisions of our authorized bodies. "From now on, our association will continue its work without compromising the principles of rule of law, democratic participation, pluralism, solidarity and corporate responsibility."
